S.G.M.I. New Inn, Glanmire

4th and 5th Class have been working on many science experiments recently and sharing their knowledge with the other classes. They have also had a guest speaker – a local engineer in to their class to speak about his work.

Students have been busy planting vegetables in our garden. We will look forward to making a home made vegetable soup with our produce!

Thanks to all who supported our cake sale. The event was organised by Mr Powers 6th class students and proved very enjoyable.

We have had a very exciting week in New Inn School as 9 chicks hatched in our school incubator. The students are delighted to mind these chicks on a daily basis and have them out in the school garden for play time!

1. The BoM would like to express its appreciation for the great work done in the interest of the pupils and the school by the Parent’s Association
2. Well done to all those who helped and participated so enthusiastically in the 1916 Commemoration Day and Science Display Day in the school
3. The school received positive feedback on religious education & preparation for the sacraments from Sr. Geraldine during a recent visit
4. Message of congratulations and praise from the parish to Mr Powers Confirmation class, their teachers and SNAs
5. We wish the Communion class every blessing on the Saturday 7th of May
6. The School Concert is scheduled for 2^nd June. Parents will be kindly requested to drop their children to GCC for rehearsals on selected dates prior to the concert
7. First Aid training will be provided to all staff
8. The BoM on behalf of all the school offer condolences to Fr. Heinhold on the recent death of his mother
9. The Child Protection Policy has been updated and will now be made available to teachers and parents for comments
10. The Anti-Bullying Policy is currently being updated
11. Next BoM meeting is 24th May

A big thank you to everyone who helped out at the bag packing event in Dunnes stores last weekend! The total amount raised was €488.48.
